The mount positions your computer ahead of the bars where it's easy to read without looking down into your stem, and the out-front placement keeps the screen clear of water bottle spray and handlebar bag interference. This mount fits standard 31.8mm round handlebars, which covers the vast majority of road, gravel, and cyclocross bikes with traditional cockpits. A single bolt clamps around the bar using a 3mm hex key. Wahoo recommends positioning the mount to the left of your stem, orienting it to your preferred viewing angle, then tightening gently. The lightweight computers don't require much clamping force, and overtightening can strip the threads. Wahoo redesigned the mount interface for the third-generation ELEMNT computers. The BOLT 3 and ROAM 3 have flat undersides that differ from the aero-flanged bottoms of previous versions. This means the V3 mount works exclusively with V3 computers. If you're upgrading from a BOLT v2 or ROAM v2, your old mount won't accept the new computer cleanly, and this V3 mount won't fit your legacy unit. The mount does accommodate both the ROAM 3 and BOLT 3 interchangeably, so you can share mounts between bikes regardless of which V3 computer you're running. Installation follows the standard Wahoo quarter-turn system. Position the computer with its top edge between nine and ten o'clock relative to the direction of travel, press down, and rotate clockwise until it clicks into place. The mount holds the computer securely through rough pavement, gravel chatter, and the inevitable pothole. For additional security on race day or rough terrain, the BOLT 3 and ROAM 3 include a tether attachment point that loops through the mount to prevent separation if the quarter-turn interface fails.
